Do you need an online registry cleaner? Chances are you probably do. The Windows registry is one of the most important yet neglected directories on our computers. It contains information on just about all software and hardware. The registry controls all computer settings and startup programs. Unfortunately at the same time the registry needs to be frequently cleaned up. Anytime we install, update, or remove a program the registry is effected. These are common bugss that should raise red flags and motivate you to get an online registry cleaner:

• Computer crashes or computer freezes up regularly. It is expected if you are running tons of programs that your computer occasionally stops running. But if it happens more than once in awhile then something is wrong with your registry.

• Blue screen bugs and the blue screen of death (aka the BSOD) take over your computer screen. These windows problems are causes due to a corrupted file in your registry.

• Computer running slow and sluggish. This includes slow startup and the computer taking abnormally long to shut down. There are hidden files and programs that run in the background which slow down our computers considerably. Removing these registry entries to get rid of the useless programs can do wonders to speed up computer performance.

Registry fix or Reg repair is a registry repair program that has been out for several years now. The software has gained some popularity and it prompted me to review it myself. I tested it against some of the other registry cleaners, and here are my thoughts.

The most important aspect of a registry cleaner is its ability to detect and repair registry troubles. With our test computer in place, we found it was only able to identity 34% of registry errors. This is a very poor percentage. Specifically it did not perform well in repairing Kernel and Runtime bugs. These are very important registry troubles to fix in order to properly maintain the integrity of a system.

The second most important feature of a registry cleaner is its ability to speed up computer performance. Whether it be startup, shut down, or general sluggishness, the best registry cleaners can do wonders to make your computer run faster. In this aspect we found Reg repair to perform below average. I believe because it did not repair most registry problems it was not able to speed up the computer considerably.

Registry optimizer also lacks many of the additional features we have seen in other registry cleaners. Its ability to automate and optimize the computer leaves a lot to be desired.

At this time I cannot recommend using Registry optimizer. It simply does not perform at a level similar to the better registry repair software. If you are interested, I have composed a review of what I consider the best registry cleaner on the market. This is a program that blew Reg cleaner away in its ability to repair windows errors and speed up the computer.
