The needs of hard drive storage capacity have no limit. When I was in primary school, my computer hard drive capacity was only 100 MB. At that time I felt the capacity is awesome and can store a large amount of data without fearing the hard drive is full. And now we can see, just by storing one digital camera photo file needs 2 MB hard drive capacity. It means 100 MB capacity can store only 50 digital camera photo files.

The first hard drive created by IBM in 1956 only had 5 MB storage capacity or 5 million bytes, compare with the current hard drive capacity which reaches 8 TB or 8 trillion bytes like owned by Seagate BlackArmor NAS 440. This is to proof that hard drive storage capacity needs always increase.

You do not need to buy a new computer if you need more hard drive storage. You only need to purchase internal hard drive and then install it on motherboard, or to make things easier you can buy external hard drive because besides easier to use by just plugging in the external hard drive USB cable to the USB port, it can also be taken handy.

If you need a large hard drive capacity, it’s better to choose external desktop hard drive. Although it has a larger size than the portable external hard drive, but the capacity is greater. My choice falls on ‘My Book Studio Edition’, one of external hard drive masterpiece. It took a long journey for me to find it.

Pros
•The shape and the size are like a dictionary, elegant, and can be easily put in your laptop bag. You will never be bored looking on it. It has a capacity gauge on one side that indicates how much capacity you have used. Does not require installation CD, just plug in and can be used right away.

•Like most external hard drive which has fastest external SATA interface 3Gb/s, it works very quiet and smooth (no fan attached in it).

•You can get My Book Studio Edition 1 TB for just around 160 bucks. That capacity is enough to save your graphic design, video editing, or any project masterpiece.

•Forget to back up your data frequently because this drive can do this part through automatic back up feature.

Cons
If you want to prevent infamous clicking sound of death heard from this drive, you need to be careful. Avoid it from any critical conditions because it is not designed to be durable under such conditions, and forget to take it as your travel companion.
